Things to be clear about before we start Bum Marketing
1. The Bum Marketing as devised by Travis relies on a lot of free and low cost software and facilities. His original idea was to use article marketing to start off with and then to create a sum of money that can be spend on advertising eg PPC- adwords etc. He also recommended that bum marketers advertise on USfreeads.
What are we going to do in the viral version of bum marketing? ( Calling it blackhat is a way to draw attention- it just means viral only!)
In viral bum marketing, we will start off with the niche selection process. Note - we do NOT concentrate on keywords, but we concentrate on the Niche. So we will go ONE STEP better to research the niche, because unless the niche is marketable and lucrative enough, our products will NOT sell. At this point of time, we will NOT have adsense in those sites for our niches because high priced affiliate products do not fit in well with the adsense, making your visitors to the sites very suspicious about the quality of your product with adsense by the side.
In viral bum marketing, we will go to all lengths to get the best niches- and that involves using every known avenue and software- buy and use on trial, or do manually - to get the best niches.
Currently the hottest just released program is Myleena Phan's Niche Inspector http://www.nicheinspector.com ( This is not an affiliate link!), and you can go grab her free guide on how to get those nice juicy niches that you can do in a jiffy with her software. The manual method is the same, except that it takes much more time than having the software runs! But for a bum marketing, the manual method should do as you are operating on a low budget.
Without going into more details, I'll like to outline the approach for the blackhat bum marketing.
1. Find 25 hot niches using the method from NicheInspector - either manually or by software.
2. Narrow down the 25 to just the top 5 hottest niches.
3. Build at least a ONE PAGE web site for each of the niches - BUT address the main problem with Bum Marketing, which is a big flaw with bum marketing: IT DOES NOT ENCOURAGE YOU TO BUILD A LIST! Bum marketing only concentrates on making money- sending articles to article directories and building other people's business. You are a dead duck with the original bum marketing because you are not creating a business- without your own mailing list. You are merely working on a JOB with the article marketing. So the website MUST include a sign up box for a course for the niche selected or a newsletter.
4. Once again, use a landing page template from a PLR purchase previously to create these 5 landing pages.
5. Traffic- LINKS - post to specialist forums and blogs to get high PR one way backlinks!- this is a tip which has been proven to quickly get quality backlinks rather than a large quantity of backlinks from using an Article Submitter. I will talk more about this later.
6. Prepare a TEASER video and put it to YouTube as soon as possible.
WOW- that's a lot to do for the first 2 days!

Bum Marketing- Why This Blog
If you are reading this post, it will be because you are a bum marketing too. So Welcome to this blog meant for all marketers - and non marketers alike, because every one you see now can be your associate or client. You are marketing yourself every moment!
In this blog, we will discuss many of those techniques that remain hidden from the public view - techniques and tips that will propel your bum marketing efforts to the highest level of affiliate selling. The last I read about a launch, a guru of affiliate marketing was getting lots of people interested in his "marketing buzz" , using the Butterfly Marketing concept and he was charging over a $1000 for each of his course.
But on this blog, we will not have any of these things- there won't be hype.
I will also do an experiment and document for you with my activities to try to reach $1000 per month income from bum marketing. Really, when you break down this figure to per week, it is only $250 per week, so it is reasonably achievable. I have know bum marketers to average $250 per day, not per week. So we shall see whether we have good success with bum marketing with the help of viral techniques. Nothing illegal but techniques that are super viral and effective will be used, especially those belonging to Web 2 generation of sites, including social bookmarking.
And I will document them, along with mention of the tools I use to attempt whatever that is required for us to touch that goal.
