The main component of bum marketing is writing articles that contain good content and submitting them to the article directories for publication. In return, you get free promotion and publicity and a good backlink. It is the publicity that can style you or brand you as an expert. For example, if you submit your articles to http://www.ezinearticles.com, and your article gets published, you can be receiving traffic almost as soon as your article is published. This is because of the popularity of this site which has a high Google Page Rank.

As part of the tools that you can use to get free publicity and to promote your site, I will also be using forum marketing. This will include contributing posts to forums and also leaving a signature line referring to this blog.
Today I am encouraged by the story of a very experienced lady who is an expert in women relationships who went from broke to achieving $4000 a month within 6 months. She made her transistion after getting burned out from working too hard in the physical work place, running TV appearances, talk shows and including being considered twice for the Oprah show. On her breakdown and exhaustion, she had a holiday to rejuvenate and met with more resistance in trying to get re-employed after that break.
Instead, she decided to make a shift from the non-internet marketing world to starting her business online in marketing.
Her report is a step by step guide on how she worked step by step to create that new business, and the people who assisted her every step of the way.
Ok, now back to the business of today. Today, I'll be spending most of my time writing articles to post to promote this blog. I'll be posting to the few article directories we have talked about above.

Putting Google Adsense On This Blog
The primary objective of this blog is to act as a content site to exchange ideas and concerns about internet marketing and provide information to the general public or readers who visit this blog.
As part of providing more content and purpose to this blog, I have today applied for an adsense account and so until the account is reviewed and checked, we will not be seeing any google ads on these pages except the Public Service Ads.
Anyway, we will continue to talk about finding niches as we will want to be niche marketers in bum marketing.
In my recent post, I mentioned about finding some hot niches in good demand that we can become affiliate marketers for will involve some keyword research.
Going to ebay Hot Products session is a good way to see what is selling and what is not. There is such a big breakdown in the categories of goods in ebay that it is relatively easy to join as an affiliate for the companies that deal in the hot products.
Anyway is to study the Searches and the number of webpages available on the internet so that we can find the R/S value or the Number of Searches by others divided by the number of pages available. A low figure will show promise.
An example of a niche would be on the term "puppy", or "goldfish : or "Nemo" .
Doing a Google Search will reveal these figures.
The other important aspect of viral bum marketing is to use social bookmarking and many other means to drive traffic to the site. It is needful to have a clear mind as to what can be done and what can't.
Traffic is also important -but as we are putting in good content, and can communicate smoothly, this will attract a lot more people to sign up in the days ahead.
Until I get news from Google Adsense on the status of the account, we'll have to continue to track and report the progress on this blog.

Our aim in internet marketing is to provide gratification to others in need by way of a product or a service, and getting paid in the process. Therefore, our duty is to find those lucrative niches where we can provide the service or the product that can alleviate and solve other people's problems.
One of the best ways to uncover niches is to perform a Google Search with the following questions in the Search Box:

Bum Marketing -Progress so far - 2nd day
Obstacles must not stand in the way of the viral bum marketer- he's just too industrious to sit on his bum!
Well, the search for hot niches hit a snag as the software used to find the niches did not return the CPC prices, which was an important part of the niche selection process. So on the behest of the guru's and a tonne of good recommendations, I opted for Keyword Elite to uncover the niches. JUST A SECOND THERE! I thought the bum marketer is supposed to use low cost or free resources. Ok, let's use some economic sense - the cost of this software in comparison to the opportunity cost- the deliverance of thousands of high paying keywords for adsense and search engine traffic for affiliate sales - will pay for the software within days! From the testimonials- and there are hundreds of them - this was the norm and not the exception. So don't be penny wise and pound foolish. If you put the charges to the credit card, you can have it paid off within its interest free credit days:-) .
I wasn't disappointed with Keyword Elite - switching it on to dig for a keyword and just leaving it alone while I hit the sack for the night, the next morning I discovered it had dutifully dug up powerful information on the keywords...and I knew what keywords were the highest paid. The highest paid keyword within the niche I was targeting hit around $16.80 !! So assuming you get paid some 20 to 30% of this keyword per click, that would be $3.00 to $5.00 per click - a nice prospect - if you are operating on adsense.
Ok, next- the progress on website making.
The Keyword Elite has the feature to gather articles that you can use and to create the adsense pages itself - but not as a website. The pages were rather cool - because they follow the concept of "ugly websites" that can bring in the adsense clicks. No headers, no footers, no fancy graphics, just text and the google ads placements. Now, that doesn't fit into the blackhat bum marketer model as I see it. So I had to transfer the articles to text and to use another software to build the pages into a website. Just 5 minutes and viola! I have one of the best looking structured website for adsense and affiliate income!! I think it will not be a problem to finish 5 websites by today, and then to submit one for getting the google adsense account.
I also need to dig up from my old collection a tool that can gather more articles from the article directories that I can use to speed up the process.
I expect to be able to put Adsense, Clickbank and Amazon on the websites ( later on will also use Linkshare and CJ Junction ) , the 3rd day will be getting the traffic- and that is looking exciting. I know the Keyword Elite will prove itself well very very soon!

Preliminaries- Things You Must Be Clear About Before We Start- Day 1 & Day 2

Things to be clear about before we start Bum Marketing
1. The Bum Marketing as devised by Travis relies on a lot of free and low cost software and facilities. His original idea was to use article marketing to start off with and then to create a sum of money that can be spend on advertising eg PPC- adwords etc. He also recommended that bum marketers advertise on USfreeads.
What are we going to do in the viral version of bum marketing? ( Calling it blackhat is a way to draw attention- it just means viral only!)
In viral bum marketing, we will start off with the niche selection process. Note - we do NOT concentrate on keywords, but we concentrate on the Niche. So we will go ONE STEP better to research the niche, because unless the niche is marketable and lucrative enough, our products will NOT sell. At this point of time, we will NOT have adsense in those sites for our niches because high priced affiliate products do not fit in well with the adsense, making your visitors to the sites very suspicious about the quality of your product with adsense by the side.
In viral bum marketing, we will go to all lengths to get the best niches- and that involves using every known avenue and software- buy and use on trial, or do manually - to get the best niches.
Currently the hottest just released program is Myleena Phan's Niche Inspector http://www.nicheinspector.com ( This is not an affiliate link!), and you can go grab her free guide on how to get those nice juicy niches that you can do in a jiffy with her software. The manual method is the same, except that it takes much more time than having the software runs! But for a bum marketing, the manual method should do as you are operating on a low budget.
Without going into more details, I'll like to outline the approach for the blackhat bum marketing.
1. Find 25 hot niches using the method from NicheInspector - either manually or by software.
2. Narrow down the 25 to just the top 5 hottest niches.
3. Build at least a ONE PAGE web site for each of the niches - BUT address the main problem with Bum Marketing, which is a big flaw with bum marketing: IT DOES NOT ENCOURAGE YOU TO BUILD A LIST! Bum marketing only concentrates on making money- sending articles to article directories and building other people's business. You are a dead duck with the original bum marketing because you are not creating a business- without your own mailing list. You are merely working on a JOB with the article marketing. So the website MUST include a sign up box for a course for the niche selected or a newsletter.
4. Once again, use a landing page template from a PLR purchase previously to create these 5 landing pages.
5. Traffic- LINKS - post to specialist forums and blogs to get high PR one way backlinks!- this is a tip which has been proven to quickly get quality backlinks rather than a large quantity of backlinks from using an Article Submitter. I will talk more about this later.
6. Prepare a TEASER video and put it to YouTube as soon as possible.
WOW- that's a lot to do for the first 2 days!

Bum Marketing- Why This Blog
If you are reading this post, it will be because you are a bum marketing too. So Welcome to this blog meant for all marketers - and non marketers alike, because every one you see now can be your associate or client. You are marketing yourself every moment!
In this blog, we will discuss many of those techniques that remain hidden from the public view - techniques and tips that will propel your bum marketing efforts to the highest level of affiliate selling. The last I read about a launch, a guru of affiliate marketing was getting lots of people interested in his "marketing buzz" , using the Butterfly Marketing concept and he was charging over a $1000 for each of his course.
But on this blog, we will not have any of these things- there won't be hype.
I will also do an experiment and document for you with my activities to try to reach $1000 per month income from bum marketing. Really, when you break down this figure to per week, it is only $250 per week, so it is reasonably achievable. I have know bum marketers to average $250 per day, not per week. So we shall see whether we have good success with bum marketing with the help of viral techniques. Nothing illegal but techniques that are super viral and effective will be used, especially those belonging to Web 2 generation of sites, including social bookmarking.
And I will document them, along with mention of the tools I use to attempt whatever that is required for us to touch that goal.
Just that it must be clear that Bum Marketing does not condone anything illegal. In that sense, perhaps it is clearer to call bum marketing Viral marketing, because we are going to use anything that can be viral marketing.
